The Washington Post regularly praised Barack Obama for visiting the victims of the several shootings that happened under his watch, but they openly trash President Trump for doing the exact same thing.
The Post wrote a misleading piece that said Trump spent time with the survivors, “but not with the victims”.
Here’s what they said (via WaPo):
President Trump, as he often does while responding to natural disasters, mass shootings or unfolding crises, spent much of his time congratulating the responders instead of memorializing the victims of Wednesday’s school shooting during a visit here Friday.
Trump, in two quick stops at a hospital and sheriff’s office near the school where 17 were killed and scores were injured, praised the doctors, police officers, fire officials and others who responded quickly to the mass shooting in Parkland, casting their response as heroic and record-setting.
Phillip Rucker is the liberal reporter who posted the story to Twitter:

In response, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders absolutely unloaded on him with FACTS:
Actually @PhilipRucker it’s not very nice, but it is very misleading. @POTUS spent private time w/ victims of the shooting & their families. Out of respect for them he didn’t bring media into their hospital rooms but don’t let the truth get in the way of your anti-Trump narrative https://t.co/APx9ZSbpEh

We’re glad to see her putting this crazy reporter in his place. Obama would have wanted the media to get footage of him “comforting” the families of the actual dead victims, but Trump isn’t trying to score any media points like that.
In case you missed it, here was Trump’s tweet recapping his visit with the families of this horrible tragedy:
Our entire Nation, w/one heavy heart, continues to pray for the victims & their families in Parkland, FL. To teachers, law enforcement, first responders & medical professionals who responded so bravely in the face of danger: We THANK YOU for your courage! https://t.co/3yJsrebZMG pic.twitter.com/ti791dENTy
